Nicosia Biennial
The Biennial is organized by Bienal Arkhe, under the auspices of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB), and with the main sponsorship of the Vedat Kaner Foundation.
The Biennial aims to connect Nicosia with the international art scene by creating a link between various productions with a global selection of artists, and to mobilize all the city's dynamics. It seeks to open up a space for confrontations and rethinking, both on an individual and societal level, through art.
The Curatorial and Selection Committee consists of: Chairman Hervé Matine (France), and members: Ginette Caron (Italy), Senih Çavuşoğlu (Cyprus), and Aslı Bolayır (an artist living in Spain and a member of the Arkhe Board of Directors). Visitors can encounter a very rich selection of works from artists representing 22 countries across various venues spread throughout the capital, Nicosia.
Artists include: Armando Milani, Mehmet Güleryüz / Kerimcan Güleryüz, Derviş Zaim, Marısa Merlin, Erdil Yaşaroğlu, Muhammet Bakır, Nancy Atakan & Dilek Aydın, Dora Monetti Fagin, Ardan Özmenoğlu, Giorgos Kevrekidis & Seçkin Tercan, Noma Bar, Teresa Sdralevich, Cuca Arce, Mehveş Beyidoğlu, Fernando Alday Cruz, Kares Le Roy, Kaori Jones & Patrick Jones (Kappa), Elfe Uluç, Osman Keten, Emel Samioğlu, İnci Kansu, İsmet Tatar, Simge Uygur, Aydın Teker, Meryem Tomak, Kemal B.Caymaz, Osman Keten, Ataman Kınış, Mehrdad Naraghı, Cedrıc Gatıllon, Ceren Asmaz, Farzın Foroutan, Sedefnur Merve Özbek, Nihal Soğancı, Balbusso Twins, Ceren Emmioğlu & Ahmet Sultan, Pınar Çoker, Sevda Orr, Onur & Esra Eroğlu.
Gaza Biennial: As part of the Nicosia Biennial, works by artists from Gaza are featured in the Nicosia Pavilion.
Guided Tours: Free tours are organized throughout the Biennial period every Saturday from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM to introduce the exhibition areas and public installations (in Turkish and English).
